Finding Billy

It is always amazing to observe the journeys of everyday people turned world famous. It's all the more so when the persons in focus are a bunch of nine to ten-year-old boys. Finding Billy is a documentary about the nationwide search for three young actors to share the lead role in the Broadway Musical Billy Elliot. David, Trent and Kiril work with Director Stephen Daldry and Choreographer Peter Darling through ten days of gruelling call back auditions and on through to opening night. The first version of the documentary aired on Channel 13 in 2008 was nominated for two Emmy Awards. It now includes a new epilogue interviewing the boys three years after their opening to reveal the profound impact the production has had on their young lives.
